Tribes of Kenya

1st June 2021

What an amazing, electrifying and colourful day this was! Even though it was chilly at the start of the day, this didn’t dampen the spirits of the excited, Year 3 children who turned up at school dressed as different tribes of Kenya. No words were needed to explain the joy in the children as they cat walked on the field in a fashion show, showcasing their outfits from their chosen tribes. To crown the day, the children had a tasty, mouthwatering Kenyan snack from the coastal region (mahamri) prepared specially for them by our lovely, never tiring kitchen staff, followed by an exhilarating Isikuti dancing session from the Luhya tribe; led by their Luhya teachers. Indeed, this was an experience that all children who took part will surely remember for a long time.
