Braeburn Earns Podium Success at IAPS Cross Country

The Braeburn Cross Country team took part in the IAPS Cross Country Competition on Saturday, 9th May 2026, held at St. Andrews Turi. The team travelled on Friday afternoon, spent the night in Njoro, and then proceeded to Turi early on Saturday morning in preparation for the competition.

After an energetic morning warm-up, the children were in excellent spirits and ready to compete. The sunny weather created a fantastic atmosphere for the day, and the team responded with determination and enthusiasm across all age categories.

The U9 Girls opened the competition with an outstanding performance. Zita (Year 4) finished an impressive 4th overall, while the team secured 1st place in the U9 Girls category. The U9 Boys also delivered an excellent performance, with Luca (Year 4) winning bronze and helping the team achieve 2nd overall in the U9 Boys category.

Braeburn’s strongest individual performance came from Sofie (Year 6), who produced a superb run to claim 1st place in the U11 Girls category. The team’s final podium finish came from Alix (Year 7), whose exemplary effort earned bronze in the U13 Boys race.

Every child who participated demonstrated resilience, determination, and excellent sportsmanship throughout the event. Their combined efforts earned Braeburn an outstanding 3rd overall position. Congratulations to the entire cross-country team on a fantastic achievement.
